Michelle brings over 20 years of successful leadership in both the public and private sectors. She has been involved in numerous joint public/private sector economic development and real estate projects since the early 1990’s when she worked for the city’s economic development agency. Early on in her career, she understood how vital it is for the public and private sectors to collaborate in order to achieve economic growth and job creation for the community.
Michelle eventually returned to the private sector where she spent ten years working for the Ciminelli Companies. After starting a women-owned business, her passion for the community led to her return to the public sector working as a senior leadership member for the Erie County Executive.
Michelle is a member of the Erie Community College Board of Trustees and was one of three distinguished education administrators selected by SUNY Chancellor Nancy Simper to represent Erie County in the SUNY Group of 2010 that was charged with developing a strategic plan for New York’s SUNY school system. Michelle is also a mentor for the SUNY Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership program. Michelle has served on many public and private sector boards throughout the years.
Michelle holds a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration/S.P. Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York College at Buffalo where she is currently serves as part time faculty/lecturer. Michelle is a graduate of the Leadership Buffalo, Leadership Buffalo Graduate Program, and is a recipient of the Buffalo Business First “40 Under 40” and “Women of Influence” recognition.
